koncepcia/concept:

Výstava LEGO je zameraná na analýzu modelov hry v súčasnom výtvarnom umení. Pokiaľ mnohí súčasní umelci uplatňujú stratégiu hry v procese svojej tvorby, aktuálny projekt je zameraný na prezentáciu umeleckých diel, ktoré aj vo svojom výsledku zostávajú na pôde hry – a to jazykom, ktorý uplatňujú. LEGO je jedna z kultových stavebníc, ktorá osobne zasiahla našu generáciu, ale ktorá je napriek úplne inej situácii v ponuke hier pre mladú generáciu ostáva stále aktuálna a atraktívna. Projekt LEGO bol inšpirovaný Bibliou postavenou z lega od američana Brendan Powell Smitha s ktorou som sa stretol v Londýnskom ICA. Diela ostatných vystavujúcih autorov priamo alebo voľnejšie nadväzujú na stavebnicu Lego.

Projekt je programovo zameraný aj na zaujatie detského diváka, ktorý v programe súčasných galérií nemá vždy adekvátne miesto.

The exhibition LEGO focuses on analysing the models of playing in contemporary fine art. As long as many contemporary artists use the play strategy in the processes of their work, the actual project is concentrated on presentation of art pieces, which even in their output stay in the fields of play - by means of used artistic language. LEGO is one of cult brick toys which had a strong influence on our generation, but still is actual and attractive. Project LEGO was inspired by Bible made of LEGO bricks by american artist Brendan Powell Smith, which I encountered in London´s ICA. The other artists´pieces are also directly or freely inspired by LEGO. The project also aims to win attention of childrens´audience, which is not always regarded in the programme of contemporary art galleries.
